Guarantees

Any Government of a country that wishes to host the FIFA World Cup™, arguably the greatest show on the planet, must provide a number of guarantees before football's governing body will grant it the right to host the event. Legislation

Before FIFA was able to award South Africa the right to stage the 2010 FIFA World CupTM, the Government had to provide a number of guarantees, including new legislation – assurances required of any country that wants to put in a bid to host the event.
